Daina Griffith
I’m Daina, and I’d love to be your acting coach!
I was born and raised in Southern Ohio and moved to Pittsburgh to train for my BFA in Musical Theatre at Point Park University. While in college, I was constantly suggesting monologues and songs to my fellow classmates. My acting coaching started early! Upon graduation, I moved to NYC where I learned just how important audition etiquette was. Having the right material is a huge must! After leaving NYC and returning to Pittsburgh I threw myself into the local professional acting scene and have worked nonstop at every professional theatre in town, multiple times. Film, commercial and television work quickly followed. I believe it’s important to have an acting coach that is active in the field because things change all the time, and I’m a part of that evolution, so my students get to be too. I have great relationships with all of the casting agencies, local performing arts high schools and professional theaters. It gives me great pleasure to see my students succeed, and I’m always there to answer any questions they have and introduce them to the right people. I never had someone mentoring me when I got into the business, and it was scary. Helping my students gives me so much joy.
